Medical design by experienced experts
We specialise in the design of medical devices and health technologies to improve patient care and outcomes. To do this, we develop physical and digital solutions that are intuitive, elegant and simply beautiful.
In the market for medical products, good medical design makes more than just one crucial difference: products must convince in two ways. On the one hand, for the practitioner: Here, easy and intuitive operability, the greatest possible safety in use – this also includes the prophylactic elimination of possible operating errors and good hygiene properties – and a clear structuring of the functions are important. Well thought-out medical design also has clear advantages for patients: The product should signal trustworthiness and be likeable.

"Eckstein Design is the first and only consultancy that actually involved us in the design development process instead of just observing and pushing a solution onto us."

In the process, we have learned a lot about people, their habits, their wishes and their aspirations. Our interest is to develop the best possible health products and services, for people with people. Naturally, design ideas are implemented in such a way that they comply with all relevant guidelines (CE, FDA or SFDA), as well as with DIN EN 62366 for approval as a medical product. The fact that we have two decades of experience in the field of medical design allows us and our customers to reach our goals safely and without detours.
When designing, it is important to break down “feelings” into tangible visual components, each of which represents a perceived value. These elements vary according to product category, purpose, addressees and context. Eckstein Design’s design process refines values and adapts them into clear visual signals that appeal to the target groups in medical design.
