A particular novelty in this device class is the exchangeable battery pack, which increases the readiness of the device by keeping several charged batteries on hand. A clear snap-in feature gives the user certainty of a secure connection. The aim of the design was to create a robust, solid impression that incorporates both masculine and technoid design features. The protective cover as a strong characterising design element has a well thought-out segmentation and faceting, which makes the product appear powerful and handy despite its volume. Recessed areas on the sides indicate buttons in the inner casing, after which the exchangeable battery can be easily removed. Defined, protruding contact surfaces protect the rotary switch and display from impacts or overhead positioning. The input key area has been redesigned to give the unit more stability and clarity. The keys have been integrated into a flatter, tidier layout. Prints above the programmable softkeys create a reference to the display and other setting options.
