Eckstein Design congratulates the team around Stefan Vilsmeier from Brainlab on the nomination for the Deutscher Zukunftspreis 2022!
The ExacTrac Dynamic® technology, which is incorporated in a housing that was developed in many years of collaboration with Eckstein Design, tracks patients with different tumor variants with millimeter precision during radiotherapy and uses real-time data to check the position of the tumor. The treatment beam can thus be controlled in a targeted manner, and damage to the surrounding healthy tissue is reduced. This enables significantly faster treatment with fewer side effects than conventional radiation treatments.
The prize, which has been awarded by the German President for over 25 years, honors outstanding technical, engineering or scientific as well as software and algorithm-based innovations in a national performance comparison. On Oct. 26, 2022, we will learn which innovative company won the award.
