Sep 3rd 2014 // Stefan Eckstein to be a juror for the James Dyson Award

The James Dyson Award is an international design contest for students in 18 countries. The task this year was to develop something, which solves a problem. All submitted entries had to pass a test constisting of 3 steps.

In the end there were 14 awards to confer: "national winner", "international finalist" and "international winner". After an exciting jury-session in Cologne the five best of 72 finalists and the german winner were determined.

This is the result of the 1st selection phase. For the next steps we wish good luck to all the participants.

Jul 7th 2014 // Red dot Gala 2014

On July 7, at „Zeche Zollverein“ in Essen, the RedDot-Awards for Product Design 2014 were awarded. More than 1.200 international guests had arrived for this glamorous presentation of prizes to the Aalto-Theatre and celebrated afterwards at the Designers Night into the early hours.
The highest accolade “RedDot: Best of the Best” was given to 72 different products, 1.120 were recognized for excellent product design and 123 contributions received the title "Honourable Mention" for outstandingly successful detail solutions.
The RedDot Gala was moderated by Professor Dr. Peter Zec, initiator and CEO of this world-famous award, as well as Stefan Eckstein, president of Association of German Industrial Designers and representative of jury experts.
